So, here are a few pages to check out if you want some interesting reading into the origin and myth of the Slenderman;
Original thread, creation of the first Slenderman photo:

A great site to read into the Mythos, along with links to blogs, vlogs, and so on:

An informative tumblr not inside the ARG, with information on creators and authors:

I've read a couple of places claiming Tall, Dark and Scary is an Eldritch Abomination. Not much of a surprise, if you know ANYTHING about H.P. Lovecraft or D&D. A few links into the definition and classification of said monsters:

One thing I have noticed is people talking about OTHER abominations, and using CHESS PIECES as references. Where this idea came from is beyond me, and I'd die to find out more about it. But, y'know, I can just chill and dig around a little. That's next on my list of things to scrounge around Google for. For now, let's start here and see where it goes.
As a side note, I would like to point out that I do not believe in the myth. There's undeniable evidence showing it was created online, it was created on SomethingAwful, and for heaven's sake, it's the internet. Unless you have like, some kind of scientific proof this is real (to which I'd probably have to laugh at your attempt, but would be extremely interested nonetheless), I will consider it nothing more than fake. On the same token, I do believe there are people who honestly believe it's real and are in danger, but only as a danger to themselves in the risks of psychotic breakdowns and hallucinations. I'm willing to go to other blogs and try to help them solve their "riddles" and "puzzles," but only in an attempt to hinder (or at least, slow down) the mental snap I can only see as expected to happen.
It's an interesting ARG, though, and I'm amused by how realistic it can be.
So, like I said before, if you have any info and would like to give a shout out, whether here or my email, feel free. :) Not like I have anything better to do when my son's taking his nap.
Oh, in case you're wondering, that is a picture of my son, Daniel, all wrapped up in a blanket. :3 He's such a doll, I love him to pieces! Though, I tell you, eye teeth... What a freaking pain in this mama's butt!
