Okay, just wanted to once more say I'm sorry for the lack of a research post. I promise to get a draft written while I'm gone, so I can post it right away Sunday night. Danny and I are almost ready to go, and my mom should be here soon. There's no internet at her boyfriend's place, and I'm not going to sit on it while at my aunt's. That's just rude, going to see family and then just sitting on the internet. I'm more polite than that.
Sometimes. :3
Anyway, we'll be back tomorrow night, and I'll try to get some pics up asap. The laptop's STILL AT FUCKING BEST BUY, though it could've been picked up two days ago. Srs. Every time my uncle goes out to pick it up, he comes back without it. He ends up going somewhere else and completely forgetting about it.
Shit sucks, because my camera's memory stick is in that thing.
Tasha is not a happy lady. >/
I'm tempted to go pick the damn thing up myself, but...
Well, it's kind of hard to do that without a car.
Le sigh.
Other sad point, I won't be able to read Rapture while I'm gone. D: I'm here, at 12:37 PM. And I'm like ZOMG TIRESIAS WTF HOW COULD J00!?!?! Jordan, seriously, this is torture! I like campy endings and stuff, and I don't see a campy ending and it's making me sad. I've really grown attached to the characters, especially Donnie. <3 And, well, okay, your character too. He's cute. ^w^
My biggest fear is I'm going to get all caught up, and have to WAIT for the ending because it looks like you're not done with it yet. D: OH GOD I HAVE NO PATIENCE! DON'T DO THAT TO MEEEE, WHY DID I START READING WHEN IT'S NOT DONE?! T_T
Tasha, hush, it's an amazing story and you love it, so quit your bitching.
T_T Fine, Logic. I'll stop bitching.
Alrighty, time for us to get going. Have a good weekend, errbody!
^_~v
EDIT: 11:26
Oh, Jordan! (mom's running late, like always) Check this out! You should play this and tell me if it's any good so I can play it! ^_^
Yeah, I've already played the white chamber. It's alright. Could have been a lot better, but it was good for a free game.
ReplyDeleteNoooo, I was asking if it's SCARY! Like, is it too scary for ME to play, because I'm a total chicken? I want to play it, it looks good, but I'm so scared I'll get scared, I'm too scared to try it. xD
ReplyDeleteDOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE???
I can't even do haunted houses, man. Yet I can watch scary movies? lololol
Oh, and yes, I would love those links, if you don't mind? I found NanQuest, so you don't need to give me that one. :D
Here's a Q for you; have you read The Shining? I've never been able to get a copy, and I've never had the opportunity to watch the movie. My mom bought me an ORIGINAL PRINT (!!!!!) for Christmas, and I can't wait to read it! Got any good book recommendations? Single not working mama needs entertainment and shit, yo.
Oh, I got a camcorder too! :D It's just a cheap one, but still! A little handheld video recording device! Spectacular! :D AND IT'S RED! <3<3<3 *dance*
Do you celebrate Christmas? Did you get anything good? :3 (if not, should I mail you something awesome? ^_^)
I don't really notice much scariness in things most of the time; I'm usually too busy criticizing it. But the white chamber does have its moments, yes.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.mspaintadventures.com/ is where you can find four stories that are not scary but still entertaining for what they're worth. The stories are Jailbreak, Bard Quest, Problem Sleuth, and Homestuck. Homestuck DOES eventually have scary moments, but they're so far into the story that it's not worth reading it just for the sake of getting scared. I still find Homestuck to be one of the greatest stories on the internet, myself, but it's not for everyone.
http://tgchan.org/wiki/Weaver This is the page where you can find other stories by Weaver (who, for clarification, is the guy who wrote RubyQuest and NanQuest).
I have, indeed, read The Shining. The film and the book are different enough to warrant experiencing both; the book focuses more on the hotel while the film focuses more on Jack, but it's really a more significant difference than it sounds. I think I prefer the film, though, because there's a lot of things I really don't like about Stephen King's early work. Don't get me wrong, I am a big King fan and I have read over half of his books (so I've read about 30 or so of his books), but just.. bah. I really prefer his more recent stuff.
Other book recommendations, hmmmm. Well, I know you prefer scary things, so SCARY book recommendations, hmmmmmmmmmm. I'll recommend Stephen King's recent stuff, namely Cell, Lisey's Story, From a Buick 8, and Under the Dome. And The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. This stuff isn't just scary, but admirably well-written. And Cell was a huge inspiration for Rapture's setting as well as for some of EAT's details! OH OH AND DAVID WONG'S BOOK CALLED JOHN DIES AT THE END, as well as its sequel This Book is Full of Spiders. These two books are scary and hilarious and amazing in so many ways.
Buuuut if you want entertainment that isn't necessarily scary, I gotta recommend some of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original 60 Sherlock Holmes stories, or Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 351, or Tolstoy's War and Peace. ..I don't actually recommend War and Peace because it's the seventh longest book in the English language and is extremely complex and philosophical and historical. I personally loved it passionately, but if you wanna talk about stories that aren't for everyone, hoooo boy.
I do celebrate Christmas; yes, ma'am. Though I'm atheist. I just see it as a commercial holiday and time to spend with family. I got tons of things that I am very happy with. ...though if you want to mail me stuff, I won't object. Why, that would even give me opportunities to mail YOU things! :D
